Subject: To Our Music Auction Members

Date sent: Thursday August 31, 2000

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing fine, or at least as well as can be expected. It has been about five weeks since I sent out my last auction memo. So here's an update on the happenings over at eRock.

First I would like to take this time to again congratulate Mike from Stanfordville New York. Mike was July's winner of the monthly drawing on eRock. To view his comment about winning, check out the Weekly News Bulletin at: http://www.erock.net/news.html

As far as the auction itself goes, everything has been running very smoothly. Only two minor problems were reported and both were resolved right away.

I tried to give the home page on the auction a slight face lift, so the other day I replaced the drab blue "Auction Categories" and "Items of Interest" tabs with new sharper looking black tabs including a raised 3D shadow effect. They give the home page a kind of new look.

Boring.....Ok then maybe you'll find this a little more interesting. Look, I realize that this is an auction site, but I think that ultimately more people will visit on a regular basis if there are also music resources and other music related things of interest here too. And so, I've added two more cool features that fall under this subject to the home page.

The first one is a list of music festivals. Music festivals are more then just concerts, they tend to be annual gatherings, involving many bands, lasting from one to five days on the average, and are sometimes held on large open spaces like private farms and ranches. I have been working on this links page for sometime now and have come up with a page full of music festivals that I hope you might find interesting if not resourceful. I can tell you one thing though, I did learn a lot and had fun visiting all those websites posted by the music festivals. The festivals on this list tend to be ones that include lots of really good rock groups. I think you'll be surprised...so if you have a minute, go check out the new Music Festival page on eRock.

The second feature I added to the home page is a link to NetRadio's "Vintage (Classic) Rock" channel with many great sub categories to choose from for your listening pleasure. There are a lot of net radio type stations out there to say the least. And much of the internet, the ISPs (your internet service providers), and the computer browsers themselves aren't really ready (as you will probably find out) to deliver/receive a real quality consistent signal. So I tried to find a simple, user friendly, net station that had been around for a while, and which only required the bare minimum of plug-ins (aside from speakers) that most of you will already have in your computer. The pop up player that NetRadio utilizes is also very resource friendly and shouldn't effect the performance of your computer like so many others do. So the next time you're on eRock, give NetRadio a try, and surf the auction while listening to your favorite music!

I would like to encourage all of you out there that has attended a rock concert this season, to please take the time to register on our bulletin board and post your own personal concert review in the General Rock'n Roll Forum for all to read. We want to hear from you! Click the link on our home page. http://www.erock.net/alphadex.html

As a last minute reminder: The winner for this months drawing will be selected tonight (August 31st) just after midnight Pacific daylight time. If you haven't yet entered the drawing for this month, do it soon, you have until midnight. And don't forget to register every month for your chance to win an auction shopping spree on eRock! I would like to thank you all again for supporting my music site and for your much appreciated continuing participation in the auction. Thank you very much!

Sincerely,

Bob (Auction Webmaster)
